Outfit | The leather layer

Jumper // River Island
Dress // Zara
Boots // River Island
Bag // H&M
Pom Keyring // River Island

Photos by: Steph Baker

I don't recommend wearing this leather pinafore dress right now without tights, this outfit was shot a few weeks ago when it was still safe to bare your knees outside. However a layer of leather will definitely keep you not only warm but chic this winter paired with a roll neck, over the knee boots and a long line jacket of course! Make it super versatile for work worn with a shirt underneath and sleek pointed flats..

Outfit| Zara dupe Shearling Coat.

There's so many dreamy black ankle boots in Topshop currently, I had a hard time deciding and nearly walked away with more than one pair! I must have picked good because mine are sold out now however I've linked the others I'm lovin below:

Coat // Choies

Jeans // River Island
Boots // Topshop
Bag // H&M

So THAT Zara coat we've all been drooling over, you know the one! Well, then there was its half the price dupe that got us all weighing up the benefits of the original £90 investment. I wasn't ready to take the plunge before I first trialed and tested the Choies version of the beige shearling coat hands on, I'm a sucker for a bargain so I went ahead and ordered it online and here I am about to review it for you in case you were in two minds yourself.

Delivery was quick considering I chose standard and within 5 working days my item had arrived- not bad from China! However after being packaged up for shipping the coat was left looking in need of a serious steaming and definitely didn't embody the finer finish of the Zara beauty nor even that of the Choies image online. However that can be fixed with a simple reverse ironing on the underside of the garment.

In terms of insulation the Zara shearling lining will without a doubt keep you warmer as this Choies coat is thinner and not lined with actual sheeps' wool but a similar synthetic alternative - aesthetically though it looks pleasing and on-trend if you are trying to achieve the same style.

Comfort wise the faux suede is super soft and the zip and buckle finishes are to a high standard. For size, if you're petite the Choies one will fit you much better, it comes in sizes Small, Medium and Large but bare in mind these are sized in China so I ordered a Medium and it fits how I like. Whereas the Zara coat is extremely oversized and even a size Small drowned me, which some can pull off but its not for everyone.

My conclusion is to be honest, if anything I would have rather spent that bit extra and be in love with the Zara coat and get your moneys worth out of wanting to wear it all through winter, than the small satisfaction I have had out of this Choies number that I probably won't gravitate towards as much when needing to fight off that bitter chill. Don't get me wrong though if £90 is out of your budget and you're quite happy to instead layer up on the knitwear underneath then Choies will forfill your shearling coat needs!
And news just in, they've listed an even more uncanny dupe that I have linked below as well.. oh gawd, do I? Someone stop me..

Outfit| Autumnal Ombre.

*Sorry for the photo spam - just still so happy with >Stephs'< work!

Sunglasses // River Island
Jumper // H&M Studio (OUT OF STOCK)
Skirt // Topshop
Shoes // River Island

There's two things we could associate with my ombre outfit here, one being a beautiful sunset going down over the golden sands of an Hawaiian island and the second.. the burnt orange to rust gradient on Autumns' rustling leaves - the latter is more appropriate today. Summer is over and the cold season draws in leaving us only grateful for that extra hour in bed yesterday morning.
But as with the changing of leaves a change in our wardrobes is upon us and that's something to get excited about!
H&M launched their A/W15 Studio Collection last month with quilting, wool mixes and faux fur - you'll be happy its cold out!
With a lot of the designer-worthy items selling out in an instance as always, I myself couldn't resist owning some pieces! It's always a treat when a highstreet brand brings out a premium range because the quality steps up a notch without making the price brackets unattainable, and with minus temperatures just around the corner give me ALL the wool!

Unfortunately the H&M ombre knit is out of stock, so I've linked alterntives:

Outfit| Fringes of Hackney.

Jacket // Vintage Levi's
Jumper // Asos
Shirt // H&M
Skirt // River Island
Bag // Mulberry
Shoes // Zara

The whole style of this shoot is definitely my favourite to date! From the outfit to the location the outcome really defines my style and how I want my blog to look going forward and I have the talented >< to thank for that!

Autumn is officially here and the season of layering can commence - I like to show some leg for as long as possible considering we don't get much opportunity in the UK anyway, so for me layering up top is crucial to staying warm when transitioning from your summer shorts and skirts. Here I've layered some key pieces from both my summer and coming winter wardrobe.
I bought this faux leather fringed skirt from River Island during the summer knowing it was quite a statement piece I wanted to ensure it would work into my wardrobe and could be styled in multiple ways as sometimes a piece like this can become a one time wear. I already like the idea I have been able to dress it up with heels and a shirt then down with trainers and a tee - its more versatile than you would first think and layered with one of my key winter pieces this camel cashmere roll neck jumper it is now appropriate for my A/W wardrobe too. I spoke about the benefits of cashmere this time last year when the weather starts to turn bitter and our need for cosy comforts grows strong.. I know I'll be living in this roll neck!

Outfit | Boho Luxe

Top // Primark
Skirt // Bershka
Boots // River Island
Bag // H&M

I was sceptical when the seventies trend first graced the catwalks early last year as in all honesty its not one of my favourite decades, but when it showed up EVERYWHERE come AW15 collections I knew it wasn't going anywhere and fringing was about to flood the highstreet! Luckily thanks to the likes of one of my all time faves Christopher Bailey, The Flare wasn't the only stand-out silhouette, and the peasant dress in rich colour and detail teamed with suede stormed the runway bringing bohemian dressing a touch of luxe. And I knew its how I'd spend most of my summer, in floaty fabrics and lavish finishes.
